^(I) Also correctly referred to as 2/3rd AHS Centaur or AHS 47. Also incorrectly referred to as HMAS Centaur or HMAHS Centaur. The AHS is alternatively considered to stand for Army Hospital Ship.
^(II) As the exact location of Centaur's point of sinking was uncertain, different depths are given in different sources. Battle Surface! gives the depth as 550 metres (1,800 ft), while Three Minutes of Time states the depth as 1,800 metres (5,900 ft). The wreck was found in 2,059 metres (6,755 ft) of water.
^(III) Crew figures include the Torres Strait pilot assigned to Centaur.
