Aggregate Level Simulation Protocol
The Aggregate Level Simulation Protocol (ALSP) is a protocol and supporting software that enables simulations to interoperate with one another. Replaced by the High Level Architecture (simulation) (HLA), it was used by the US military to link analytic and training simulations.
ALSP consists of:
- ALSP Infrastructure Software (AIS) that provides distributed runtime simulation support and management;
- A reusable ALSP Interface consisting of generic data exchange message protocols; and
- Participating simulations adapted for use with ALSP.

Famous quotes containing the words aggregate, level and/or simulation:
“The aggregate of all knowledge has not yet become culture in us. Rather it would seem as if, with the progressive scientific penetration and dissection of reality, the foundations of our thinking grow ever more precarious and unstable.”
—Johan Huizinga (18721945)
“To punish drug takers is like a drunk striking the bleary face it sees in the mirror. Drugs will not be brought under control until society itself changes, enabling men to use them as primitive man did: welcoming the visions they provided not as fantasies, but as intimations of a different, and important, level of reality.”
—Brian Inglis (b. 1916)
“Life, as the most ancient of all metaphors insists, is a journey; and the travel book, in its deceptive simulation of the journeys fits and starts, rehearses lifes own fragmentation. More even than the novel, it embraces the contingency of things.”
—Jonathan Raban (b. 1942)
