Awards and Recognition

The Africa Centre for Holistic Management received a $4.8 million grant from the USAID Office of Foreign Disaster Assistance in 2010 to take their efforts to scale in the Southern African region. Each year since then ACHM has provided training programmes and follow-up coaching for non-government organizations (NGOs) working with communities to restore land and livelihoods using properly managed livestock as the primary tool. Also in 2010 ACHM, and founder Allan Savory, won the The Buckminster Fuller Challenge award made "to support the development and implementation of a strategy that has significant potential to solve humanity's most pressing problems.”

Famous quotes containing the word recognition:

“American feminists have generally stressed the ways in which men and women should be equal and have therefore tried to put aside differences.... Social feminists [in Europe] ... believe that men and society at large should provide systematic support to women in recognition of their dual role as mothers and workers.”
