AFL New Zealand

AFL New Zealand is the governing body of Australian rules football in New Zealand.

AFL New Zealand currently has around 536 senior players. New Zealand, like Papua New Guinea and Queensland, has experienced a boom in junior participation in recent years with reports of as many as 10,000 junior players.

The name was changed from New Zealand AFL at a Special General Meeting held on 18 June 2009, in order to better align itself with the AFL.
