AFL Capricornia

AFL Capricornia is an amateur Australian football competition played in the areas of Rockhampton and Gladstone between the months of March and September in the cooler seasons of the Central Queensland climate. The Capricornia region has had a few success stories of ex-Rockhampton players now playing or have played in the AFL, e.g. Zac Smith (Suns), Paul O'Shea (Bulldogs), Gavin Urquart (Kangaroos).

There are currently six senior clubs in the competition, all clubs have firsts, seconds, under 17's, under 15s and 13s. All Clubs run the increasingly popular Auskick, and have their own grounds to train and play on. It is the only competition in Queensland outside of Cairns and Brisbane to run a full league that includes seniors to juniors at all six clubs.
