Aesculin, also rendered Æsculin or Esculin, is a glucoside that naturally occurs in the horse chestnut (Aesculus hippocastanum), California Buckeye (Aesculus californica), Prickly Box (Bursaria spinosa) and in daphnin (the dark green resin of Daphne mezereum).
