Adrian Francis Laws

Pilot Officer Adrian Francis Laws (Born Adrian Francis Laws in 1912 – 1940) was born in East Dereham, Norfolk and attended the County Primary School at Wells-next-the sea,Norfolk until the age of 14.His parents ran a sweet shop on Staithe Street. Among his close friends at school was Allan Tuck, who named his first son after him. He enlisted in the ranks of the RAF in 1931. He was promoted Flight Sergeant on 1 July 1940. He piloted a Spitfire Mark I's with 64 Squadron. Adrian Laws was killed on 30 September 1940 as the result of a collision with another Spitfire while training new arrivals at 64 Squadron. P/O Laws is buried in the cemetery at Wells-next-the-sea, his gravestone having been cleaned and restored during the final years of RAF Coltishall as an active airfield.
