History

ADAS was originally formed in 1946 as the National Agricultural Advisory Service (NAAS) advising the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food (MAFF) before becoming the Agricultural Development and Advisory Service (ADAS) in 1971. It became an executive agency of MAFF in 1992 and was privatised in 1997, since when the company has been just known as ADAS.

To this day ADAS remains a preferred supplier to Governments and a wide range of enterprises in the public and private sectors, throughout the UK and internationally.
