Adam Smith College - Adam Smith Foundation

Adam Smith Foundation

The Adam Smith Enterprise and Education Foundation, also known as the Adam Smith Foundation, is the charitable trust of Adam Smith College. The Foundation was established in 1997 to improve and extend opportunities for students.

Through partnership with businesses, charitable trusts and individual donors the Foundation has developed a Scholarship Programme which provides recognition, a financial award, and in some cases, work experience and internships to support and encourage students to achieve their full potential.

All funds received from donors are transferred directly to the successful students and no money is retained by the College/Foundation. These awards are used to provide direct assistance to students to support and augment their studies.

Famous quotes containing the words adam, smith and/or foundation:

What we are, that only can we see. All that Adam had, all that Caesar could, you have and can do. Adam called his house, heaven and earth; Caesar called his house, Rome; you perhaps call yours, a cobbler’s trade; a hundred acres of ploughed land; or a scholar’s garret. Yet line for line and point for point, your dominion is as great as theirs, though without fine names. Build, therefore, your own world.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)

... there is a place in the United States for the Negro. They are real American citizens, and at home. They have fought and bled and died, like men, to make this country what it is. And if they have got to suffer and die, and be lynched, and tortured, and burned at the stake, I say they are at home.
    —Amanda Berry Smith (1837–1915)

Whenever any form of government shall become destructive of these ends, it is the right of the people to alter or to abolish it, & to institute new government, laying it’s foundation on such principles & organising it’s powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their safety & happiness.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)
