Activity System

The Activity system is the part of human anatomy responsible for movement with muscles and the human skeleton (structural support and protection with bones, cartilage, ligaments, and tendons).

The term activity system is also used as a shorthand for human activity system. This is a term used within Peter Checkland's Soft Systems Methodology to refer to a logical collection of activities designed to fulfill some purpose.

Famous quotes containing the words activity and/or system:

In communist society, where nobody has one exclusive sphere of activity but each can become accomplished in any branch he wishes, society regulates the general production and thus makes it possible for me to do one thing today and another tomorrow, to hunt in the morning, fish in the afternoon, rear cattle in the evening, criticize after dinner, just as I have a mind, without ever becoming hunter, fisherman, shepherd or critic.
    Karl Marx (1818–1883)

The genius of any slave system is found in the dynamics which isolate slaves from each other, obscure the reality of a common condition, and make united rebellion against the oppressor inconceivable.
    Andrea Dworkin (b. 1946)
