Acme Attractions

Acme Attractions was a London clothing store on Kings Road, Chelsea, London that in the early 1970s provided a place for many punk and reggae musicians and scensters to hang out. The "Don" of Acme was shop assistant and manager Don Letts:

Acme was the coolest "club" in town, where the interaction between the different factions became more important than selling merchandise, even though at that age it was a deadly combination.
— Don Letts

Famous quotes containing the word attractions:

The world,—this shadow of the soul, or other me, lies wide around. Its attractions are the keys which unlock my thoughts and make me acquainted with myself. I run eagerly into this resounding tumult. I grasp the hands of those next to me, and take my place in the ring to suffer and to work, taught by an instinct, that so shall the dumb abyss be vocal with speech.
    Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803–1882)
