ACLU of N.C. & Syidah Matteen V. State of North Carolina - Attorney General's Review

Attorney General's Review

The ACLU reports on its website that "The state Attorney General has 30 days to decide whether to seek discretionary review by the North Carolina Supreme Court. If the North Carolina Supreme Court does not review the ruling by the Court of Appeals, then the case will go back to the superior court for a review of the Constitutional challenge to the statute."

Noelle Talley spokeswoman for the state Attorney General confirmed that the office is “reviewing the ruling but hasn't decided about an appeal.”

Famous quotes containing the words attorney, general and/or review:

I always was of opinion that the placing a youth to study with an attorney was rather a prejudice than a help.... The only help a youth wants is to be directed what books to read, and in what order to read them.
    Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826)

It has been the struggle between privileged men who have managed to get hold of the levers of power and the people in general with their vague and changing aspirations for equality, for justice, for some kind of gentler brotherhood and peace, which has kept that balance of forces we call our system of government in equilibrium.
    John Dos Passos (1896–1970)

I review novels to make money, because it is easier for a sluggard to write an article a fortnight than a book a year, because the writer is soothed by the opiate of action, the crank by posing as a good journalist, and having an airhole. I dislike it. I do it and I am always resolving to give it up.
    Cyril Connolly (1903–1974)
