Public Opinion

Various polls have been taken on public opinion regarding starting accession negotiations, joining the EU and adopting the euro, thus joining the eurozone. Noted must be the effect of negative propaganda dismissed by experts, including professors at the University of Iceland, that organizations such as Heimssýn, a group notorious for two commercials that aired on Icelandic television claiming the EU to be undemocratic, have had on the views of the Icelandic public.
