AC Entertainment

AC Entertainment is a music promotion company based in Knoxville, Tennessee, the co-producers of the Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival and Vegoose, both with Superfly Productions, and talent-buyers for the Orange Peel. In Knoxville, they are also managers of the Tennessee Theatre and Bijou Theatre, producers of Sundown in the City, a summer concert festival in Market Square, Talent Buyers for the Valarium, producer of the Big Ears Festival, an annual festival in downtown Knoxville, and of the Moogfest, a musical celebration honoring the innovative spirit of Robert Moog, which is annually held in Asheville, North Carolina towards the end of October.

AC Entertainment maintains the Great Stage Park festival ground, where they annually host Bonnaroo. (This site is for lease for special events.) They produce and promote a variety of music and performing arts events across the country with an emphasis on the Southeast. The company was also involved in starting the alternative weekly Metro Pulse, although the two companies are now independent.

AC Entertainment is headed by Ashley Capps of Knoxville, who founded the company in 1991. Its name is derived from his initials. Capps got his start as a music promoter during the 1970s, when he booked events at the University of Tennessee and at off-campus venues in Knoxville. In 1988 he opened a music club in Knoxville called Ella Guru's, which he closed in 1990 to re-focus his energies on forming AC Entertainment.
