Local Programming

ABD follows a schedule similar to the ABC's state-wide stations, opting out regularly for local news, current affairs and sport programming.

The nightly local ABC News is presented by Claire Mackay on weeknights and Eleni Roussos on weekends. Kristy O'Brien and Phoebe Stewart act as a fill-in presenters. The weeknight bulletins also incorporate a national finance segment presented by Alan Kohler in Melbourne.

7.30 Northern Territory, is a weekly current affairs program broadcast at 7:30 pm on Friday nights and presented by Louisa Rebgetz.

ABD also airs live coverage of Northern Territory Football League matches every Saturday afternoon during the season..

Famous quotes containing the words local and/or programming:

Wags try to invent new stories to tell about the legislature, and end by telling the old one about the senator who explained his unaccustomed possession of a large roll of bills by saying that someone pushed it over the transom while he slept. The expression “It came over the transom,” to explain any unusual good fortune, is part of local folklore.
—For the State of Montana, U.S. public relief program (1935-1943)

If there is a price to pay for the privilege of spending the early years of child rearing in the driver’s seat, it is our reluctance, our inability, to tolerate being demoted to the backseat. Spurred by our success in programming our children during the preschool years, we may find it difficult to forgo in later states the level of control that once afforded us so much satisfaction.
