Famous quotes containing the words woman and/or skin:

Far off she rolled and rolled
    like a woman in labor
and I thought of those who had crossed her,
in antiquity, in nautical trade, in slavery, in war.
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)

my soul lingers over the skin of you
and I wonder if I’m ruining all we had,
    and had not,
    by making this break,
    this torn wedding ring,
    this wrenched life....
    Anne Sexton (1928–1974)
