Prequel
In June 2008, producers Mark Canton, Gianni Nunnari and Bernie Goldmann revealed that work had begun on a prequel to 300, 300: Rise of an Empire. Legendary Pictures has announced that Frank Miller has started writing the follow-up graphic novel, and Zack Snyder was interested in directing the adaptation, but has since moved on to develop and direct the Superman reboot Man of Steel. Noam Murro has signed as the director, while Zack Snyder is set to produce. The film will focus on the Athenian admiral, Themistocles, as portrayed by Australian actor Sullivan Stapleton.
