2009 Detroit Lions Season - New Uniform and Logo Designs

New Uniform and Logo Designs

The Lions officially unveiled a somewhat new logo design and uniforms on April 20, 2009 at a public press conference at a local Dunham's Sports store. The Lion on the helmet now has a flowing mane and fangs, and the font of "Lions" is more modern and stylish.

The Lions' throwback uniforms that used were in 2008 became their official third uniform, however they were not used in 2009. The black jerseys used from 2005–2007 were officially discontinued on February 9, 2009, according to Lions team president Tom Lewand.

Famous quotes containing the words uniform and/or designs:

The Federal Constitution has stood the test of more than a hundred years in supplying the powers that have been needed to make the Central Government as strong as it ought to be, and with this movement toward uniform legislation and agreements between the States I do not see why the Constitution may not serve our people always.
    William Howard Taft (1857–1930)

It is a mighty error to suppose that none but violent and strong passions, such as love and ambition, are able to vanquish the rest. Even idleness, as feeble and languishing as it is, sometimes reigns over them; it usurps the throne and sits paramount over all the designs and actions of our lives, and imperceptibly wastes and destroys all our passions and all our virtues.
François, Duc De La Rochefoucauld (1613–1680)
