Famous quotes containing the words men, champions and/or challenge:
“The fundamental steps of expansion that will open a person, over time, to the full flowering of his or her individuality are the same for both genders. But men and women are rarely in the same place struggling with the same questions at the same age.”
—Gail Sheehy (20th century)
“Did all the lets and bars appear
To every just or larger end,
Whence should come the trust and cheer?
Youth must its ignorant impulse lend
Age finds place in the rear.
All wars are boyish, and are fought by boys,
The champions and enthusiasts of the state:”
—Herman Melville (18191891)
“Seas of bright juice suffuse heaven.
The earth by the sky staid with, the daily close of their junction,
The heavd challenge from the east that moment over my head,
The mocking taunt, See then whether you shall be master!”
—Walt Whitman (18191892)
