The first round games of the 2006 World Championship have taken place in four cities:
- Yoyogi National Gymnasium, Tokyo - Group A
- Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center, Sapporo - Group B
- Kobe Green Arena, Kobe - Group C
- Nagoya Rainbow Hall, Nagoya - Group D and E
- Osaka Municipal Central Gymnasium, Osaka - Group F and Final Round
