2003 Wimbledon Championships

The 2003 Wimbledon Championships was a tennis tournament played on the outdoor grass courts at the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club in Wimbledon, London in England. It was the 117th edition of the Wimbledon Championships and were held from 23 June to 6 July 2003. It was the third Grand Slam tennis event of the year.

Lleyton Hewitt was unsuccessful in his 2002 title defence, being upset in the first round by Grand Slam debutant Ivo Karlovic. Roger Federer defeated Mark Philippoussis in the final to win his first Wimbledon title, and the first of five consecutive Wimbledon titles. Serena Williams successfully defended her 2002 title, defeating her sister Venus in the final for the second consecutive year.
