The 2001 UCI Mountain Bike World Cup included four disciplines: cross-country, cross-country time-trial, downhill, and dual-slalom. It was sponsored by Tissot.
The cross-country, downhill and dual-slalom events on 7 and 8 July were originally scheduled to be held at Whistler, but were moved to Grouse Mountain.

Famous quotes containing the words mountain, world and/or cup:
“The mountain and the squirrel
Had a quarrel,
And the former called the latter Little Prig;”
—Ralph Waldo Emerson (18031882)
“Mental violence has no potency and injures only the person whose thoughts are violent. It is otherwise with mental non-violence. It has potency which the world does not yet know.”
—Mohandas K. Gandhi (18691948)
“There is not enough exercise in this way of life. I try to make up by active gymnastics before I dress when I get up, by walking rapidly in the lower hall and the greenhouse after each meal for perhaps five to ten minutes, and a good hand rubbing before going to bed. I eat moderately; drink one cup of coffee at breakfast and one cup of tea at lunch and no other stimulant. My health is now, and usually, excellent.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
