- ABC Sports' broadcast team consisted of Paul Page ("lap-by-lap") and driver analysts Bobby Unser and Sam Posey. Danny Sullivan, who stepped away from IndyCar racing for 1994 to try NASCAR, started his broadcasting career at Indianapolis. Pit reporters included Jack Arute, Gary Gerould, and Dr. Jerry Punch. Dr. Punch was on assignment for the Indy 500 only, as NASCAR Winston Cup on ESPN was his primary duty.
- ESPN & ESPN2's broadcast team consisted of Paul Page and former Formula One and IndyCar driver Derek Daly. Pit reporters were Jack Arute and Gary Gerould from ABC joined by 1988 Indy Lights champion Jon Beekhuis. The race at Nazareth was televised with a regular broadcast on ESPN, and all onboard camera footage on ESPN2, which at the time was ESPN's experimental network.
- NBC Sports' broadcast team consisted of Jim Lampley and Derek Daly. Pit reporters were Jon Beekhuis and Brian Hammons. NBC only televised the Toronto Grand Prix; the only race of the year not on ABC or ESPN.

Famous quotes containing the word races:
“For the most part we stupidly confound one man with another. The dull distinguish only races or nations, or at most classes, but the wise man, individuals.”
—Henry David Thoreau (18171862)
“I am obliged to confess that I do not regard the abolition of slavery as a means of warding off the struggle of the two races in the Southern states. The Negroes may long remain slaves without complaining; but if they are once raised to the level of freemen, they will soon revolt at being deprived of almost all their civil rights; and as they cannot become the equals of the whites, they will speedily show themselves as enemies.”
—Alexis de Tocqueville (18051859)
“Arrive at New Orleans, a city of ships, steamers, flatboats, rafts, mud, fog, filth, stench, and a mixture of races and tongues. Cholera, some. [At] Planters Hotel. Mem:Never get caught in a cheap tavern in a strange city.”
—Rutherford Birchard Hayes (18221893)
