1992 Washington Redskins Season

1992 Washington Redskins Season

The 1992 Washington Redskins began with the team trying to win their second Super Bowl in a row, following Super Bowl XXVI. The Redskins declined by five wins to a record of nine wins and seven losses, but still made the postseason. Nonetheless, a lean period for the Redskins was to follow; they were not to make the postseason again until 1999 and have never seriously contended for another Super Bowl despite three more playoff appearances.

Famous quotes containing the words washington and/or season:

I do not mean to exclude altogether the idea of patriotism. I know it exists, and I know it has done much in the present contest. But I will venture to assert, that a great and lasting war can never be supported on this principle alone. It must be aided by a prospect of interest, or some reward.
    —George Washington (1732–1799)

Business by no means forbids pleasures; on the contrary, they reciprocally season each other; and I will venture to affirm that no man enjoys either in perfection that does not join both.
Philip Dormer Stanhope, 4th Earl Chesterfield (1694–1773)
