Famous quotes containing the words cup and/or series:

    “In poorer lands
No one touches the water of life.
    It has no taste
    And though it refreshes absolutely
It is a cup that must also pass
    Until everybody
    Gets some advantage....”
    —John Ashbery (b. 1927)

“There is in every either-or a certain naivete which may well befit the evaluator, but ill- becomes the thinker, for whom opposites dissolve in series of transitions.”
    —Robert Musil (1880–1942)
