1960s Topps - Ice Hockey

Ice Hockey

During the 1960s Topps issued cards featuring the National Hockey League. From 1960 until 1964 Topps only included players from the U.S. teams, Boston Bruins, Chicago Black Hawks, and New York Rangers except the Detroit Red Wings. The Canadian teams as well as Detroit were included in sets issued by Parkhurst. After the demise of Parkhurst in 1965, the Topps sets included players from the entire league. All sets, with the exception of the 1966-67 USA Test set were bilingulal English and French.

Beginning in 1968, Topps issued sets in conjunction with their Canadian partner O-Pee-Chee. The Topps sets from then on were English only. The Canadian sets contained more cards and were bilingual, but were otherwise basically identical.

Famous quotes containing the word ice:

A young person is a person with nothing to learn
One who already knows that ice does not chill and fire does not burn . . .
It knows it can spend six hours in the sun on its first
day at the beach without ending up a skinless beet,
And it knows it can walk barefoot through the barn
without running a nail in its feet. . . .
    Meanwhile psychologists grow rich
Writing that the young are ones’ should not
    undermine the self-confidence of which.
    Ogden Nash (1902–1971)
