127th Street Repertory Ensemble

The 127th Street Repertory Ensemble was a theater group based in Harlem, Manhattan, New York City. The name derives from West 127th Street in Harlem. The most famous member of this ensemble was Tupac Shakur.

Famous quotes containing the words street and/or repertory:

    There was an Old Man who supposed,
    That the street door was partially closed;
    Edward Lear (1812–1888)

    Each writer is born with a repertory company in his head. Shakespeare has perhaps 20 players, and Tennessee Williams has about 5, and Samuel Beckett one—and maybe a clone of that one. I have 10 or so, and that’s a lot. As you get older, you become more skillful at casting them.
    Gore Vidal (b. 1925)
