107 The Bee

The Bee is a local radio station in England. It won the licence to broadcast to parts of Lancashire in December 2004, and launched on 1 October 2005. The station is owned by UKRD. The Bee operated two trial broadcasts in 2001 and 2002 to help win the licence.

The station broadcasts to Blackburn with Darwen and Hyndburn on 107 FM. In addition it broadcasts to Preston, South Ribble and Chorley on 106.5 FM. From 2005 The Bee broadcast on only 107 FM, but on Friday 17 June at 19:00, The Bee also began broadcasting on 106.5 FM following the sale of Preston-based 106.5 Central Radio to the UKRD Group. Since this date all programming on the Preston 106.5 FM transmitter is shared with original Blackburn service, with no local programming to Preston.

The station is located in Clayton-le-Moors, Accrington. It initially broadcast from Dalton Court, Darwen, From 2005. In August 2010, The Bee moved to their new building which they share with sister UKRD station 99.8 FM 2BR. Although neither station share any programmes, both stations share facilities and some staff.
