10434 Tinbergen (4722 P-L) is a main-belt asteroid. The name is in honor of the Dutch astronomer Jaap Tinbergen (1934 - 20 June 2010), known for his contributions to the role of electromagnetic polarization in instrumentation of radio and optical astronomy.
